You don't always have to replace your felt when you move your pool table. It is the most advantageous time, but your existing felt can be re-installed. Pool table felt generally needs replaced every 3-5 years depending on how much play time and the quality of the felt. Standard quality felt on a table that is used 3 times a week should last up to 5 years. Improper cue use, items placed on the table and things like spilled drinks will damage the felt and lead to early replacement however.
Cheap discount felts deteriorate much quicker and will cost more in the long run than recognized brands. We suggest only standard felt covers or better yet, the worsted felts. Worsted provides a much smoother playing surface and more enjoyment.
